What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the waitlist and this website:

• Email address, when you join the waitlist.
• Optional details you choose to give us, such as your name, business name, role, team size, industry and what you'd like Veli to help with.
• Referral information, if you joined through someone's personal waitlist link.
• Technical information, such as your IP address, browser, device type, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit, used for security and to understand how the site is used.
• Email engagement, such as whether you confirmed your email address or opened our emails.

We don't ask for payment details, identity numbers or other sensitive information.

How we use it

• To add you to the waitlist, confirm your email address and prevent duplicate or fake sign-ups.
• To send you product updates and early access invitations, if you've agreed to receive them.
• To review Founding Member applications.
• To understand interest in Veli. We may share aggregated, anonymous figures, such as the total number of sign-ups or the mix of industries, with investors and partners. These never identify you.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.

Our legal grounds

We process your information because you consented (for example, by joining the waitlist and agreeing to receive emails), or because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our website and understanding demand for Veli. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and send emails, such as our web host, our email delivery provider and, where enabled, Cloudflare, which helps us block automated spam sign-ups. They may process it only on our instructions and must keep it secure.

Some of these providers may store information outside your country. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, as required by applicable data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until it's no longer needed for the purposes above. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
• correct or update it
• delete it
• stop or restrict how we use it, or object to its use
• stop sending you marketing emails (every email has an unsubscribe link)

Email privacy@velivo.co to make a request. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator in South Africa or to the data protection authority where you live.

Cookies

We don't use cookies to track you. To understand how many people visit and sign up, we count page views using an anonymous code that changes every day; we never store your IP address. If we add analytics or other optional cookies in future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where required.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.

Children

The waitlist is for adults and businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll let waitlist members know by email.
